Dr. Purva has completed her graduation in Architecture and doctorate in Innovation, creativity and education from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology. She did her masters in Industrial design from SPA Delhi.
She has an industry and teaching experience for 15 years which include working as Design and promotion head at GO mobile Delhi, Architecture firms, freelancing projects and teaching in 5 reputed institutes including VNIT and currently SSPAD. This also include role of Officiating Principal and Vice Principal.
Her research journey includes doctoral research on ‘Innovative method to give a creative thrust in Architecture design studio’ along with 25 research publications including 11 Scopus publications and guest lectures and workshops on creativity with different age groups. She was also a guest speaker at COA – Teachers Training Program –

Komal is founder of Ecotecture India, Architectural and Green building consultancy firm at Nagpur which deals with climate responsive architecture. She is IGBC AP (Indian Green Building Council Accredited professional)
Komal has worked as Associate Professor at IDEAS, Nagpur for twelve years.
She has done her graduation form VNIT in 2003, Post-graduation (M.Arch) with special emphasis on Daylight in office buildings in 2008. She has completed her PhD in the climate responsive building Design with title “Application of Energy conservation Building Codes in varied microclimate conditions of city residential areas.” Komal has been mentor for documentation of many villages from climatic aspect. Guided the students and edited the book “Tracing the Climate response- Rajasthan, Konkan and Central India”
She has Conducted various workshops and teachers training programs on “Teaching Climate Responsive Design” Climate on platforms such as COA-TRC (Council of Architecture) and has been a speaker in National level AICTE faculty development program, ISHRAE (Indian Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air conditioning Engineers) and in various institutes.
She has published papers in the same field in national and international journals and presented in international conference. Komal is recipient of MASA best teacher award in 2019 for related Design discipline (Environmental Design) for outstanding contribution to architectural Education. She guided a team in Solar Decathlon India competition which stood in five best Net zero Energy and water designs of educational building in 2020-21 at national level.
