On the occasion of Republic
Day, the Symbiosis School of Planning Architecture and Design
(SSPAD) Nagpur, hosted a remarkable celebration under the theme
"Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur
Vikas" (Golden India: Heritage and Progress). The event was
attended with great enthusiasm and
participation, bringing together all the institutes of SIU
Nagpur Campus .

workshop conducted at
SSPAD Nagpur holds
significant importance for the skill development of
school students. It provided
a hands-on experience in traditional crafts, encouraging
creativity, fine motor
skills, and a deeper understanding of cultural heritage.

modelling, attention to
detail, and spatial

Induction Ceremony
“Prarambha 24” for the freshers of B.Design Batch
2024-28. The venue for
Induction Ceremony was the Seminar Hall of the
Institute.

at SSPAD, Nagpur.

Symbiosis School of

organized its second Design Degree Show under the
guidance of Director Dr.
Nandini Kulkarni. The students of Bachelor of
Architecture (B.Arch) and Bachelor
of Design (B. Des) from Graphic Design, Interior Space
Design, Product Design
and User Experience Design presented and displayed their
degree projects. Some
of the Degree projects were sponsored from industry.

A significant initiative
aimed to celebrate the “Swachha Bharat Mission” 9
th
Anniversary. The SIU Nagpur Campus along with all the Institutes
conducted an hour
activity in the identified location of Nagpur. The event was
scheduled on 1st October
2023 from 10.00 am to 11 am at the premise of Pradhan Mantri
Awas Yojna in
Wathoda, Nagpur
The Symbiosis School of
Planning Architecture and Design Nagpurundcr the guidance of
Director Dr. Nandini Kulkarni, through itsTraining and Placement
Cell, organized the Industry-Academia Conclave.2023 on 20th
November in a hybrid fom1al. The primary objective was to
strengthen the relationship between the industry and academia.
The event focused on bridging the gap by fostering collaborative
efforts in research and creative ideation, providing students
with structured pathways toenter the profession. Expectations
from the conclave included identifying joint grams for various
projects, signing MOUs for collaborative initiatives. and
creating opponunities for internships, sponsored degree
projects, and placements. Over I00 participants engaged in the
conclave through both online and physical attendance.
The purpose of
fresher’s party is to welcome the new students in
friendly atmosphere
of college and it was the day where seniors and juniors
finally bond and unite to
celebrate being part of the college. The event of
Fresher’s Party called “CROESO”
encourages the new students with their creative impulses
to boost their confidence. It
is a platform where all the students come up with their
creative ideas, skills and built
a strong bond between themselves.
SSPAD, Nagpur had
conducted its fifth Induction Ceremony “Prarambha 23”
for the
freshers of B.Design Batch 2023-27. The venue for
Induction Ceremony was the
Seminar Hall of the Institute. The event started with
Inaugural address by Mrs. Kriti
Kusum, she invited Dr. Nandini Kulkarni Dy.Director of
SSPAD, HOD, 1st year
Incharge, student and parent representative for lighting
of the lamp followed by
National Anthem that generated feeling of pride and
patriotism in this auspicious
environment.
The Symbiosis School
of Planning Architecture and Design, Nagpur organized an
Art
Exhibition of First year students of Batch 2022-2026.
The exhibition was part of their
curricular activity where the different group of
students were involved in making the
illustrations (which was inspired by famous artist work)
and installation (Based on
Gestalts Principle) on a given surfaces of the
exhibition space of SSPAD.
International
women’s day is global day celebrating the various
achievements of
women in various fields. The day also marks a call to
action for accelerating gender
parity. The Symbiosis School of planning, Architecture
and Design, Nagpur
celebrated a various activity on the occasion of this
special day to raise the awareness
about the status and dignity of women amongst the
students.

Architecture and Design Nagpur, under the
Training and
Placement Cell has conducted an Industry-Academia Conclave 2022
recently in

participants joined the
conclave through online and physical mode.
A one-day guest lecture on
“Dynamics of Architectural Journalism in the digital age” was
organised by Symbiosis School of Planning Architecture and
Design, Nagpur on 20
th August
2022. The session was delivered by Ar. Suyash Sherekar. The main
objective of the guest
lecture was to make students aware about Architectural
Journalism and its importance in the
digital age. He discussed two major following activities
required in architectural journalism.
A guest lecture on “Thesis
topic as Space in UX” was organised by Symbiosis School of
Planning
Architecture and Design, Nagpur on 29
th July 2022. The session was delivered by Ms. Apurva
Chandwadkar. The main objective of the guest lecture was to make
students aware about
space also an area to be picked up as a thesis topic in UX.

The Visit to Plasto happed
on the 8th July 2022, at RC Plasto & Tanks at Hingna Nagpur.
On the initiation of the tour, students from Symbiosis School of
Planning Architecture and
Design from all the semesters of Industrial Design discipline
were given an overview
presentation by the representative of the Plasto. On the course
of the tour Plasto representatives
provided with information on the plastic Blow Moulding and the
Rotational moulding which is
employed for making the Water tanks particularly.

A one-day Staff Development
Program (SDP) on “Process of Patent Filling and Design
Registration” was organised by Symbiosis School of Planning
Architecture and Design,
Nagpur on 12th March 2022 through online mode. The main
objective of the SDP was to aware
staff about basic IP filing processes involved in Patent &
Design Registration through SIU.
The session was delivered by an eminent speaker and Deputy Head
IP Cell, SIU, Dr. Pradeep
Sharma.

series on
various architectural and design topics. The series is planned

days in which
three different webinars are to be planned by eminent experts.
Samvidhan Diwas
(Constitution Day) is celebrated every year on 26th November to
commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India and to
honor and acknowledge
the contribution of Founding Fathers of the Constitution.
SSPAD conducted online
valedictory function with the Students’ Council to
congratulate all students with academic and extra-curricular
achievements. The
session was presided over by the officiating director, Dr.
Nandini Kulkarni. Since
the session was conducted online, students participated
virtually. Certificates to the
concerned students were announced and applauded upon. The
session ended with
testimonials of senior students for their students regarding
academic and cultural
life at SSPAD
Faculties of SSPAD, along
with students launched the book ‘Exploring Visual
Geometry’ on the eve of 4th September as a culmination of the
valedictory
function. The book is a collective of students who have designed
various geometric
art forms such as zentangle mandala, pattern making and much
more. Online
inauguration was done through a flip-book by the editorial team
and all the works
were showcased to students of SSPAD. The session was conducted
by the student
editorial team, Dr. Purva Mange, Ar. Nivedita Fadnis and was
chaired by the
officiating director Dr. Nandini Kulkarni.

Symbiosis School of

National
Education Day on 11th November 2021 through virtual
Online Mode.In September of 2008, India’s Ministry of
Human Resource Development declared the
birthday of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad to be nationally
recognized as Education Day. The
first education minister of Independent India, Maulana
Abul Kalam strongly advocated
education for women and free and compulsory primary
education for children up to the
age of 14.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is one
of the most significant and popular missions to
have taken place in India. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan translates to
Clean India
Mission. It served as a great initiative in making people aware
of the importance
of cleanliness and helped in creating solutions for proper waste
management as
well.
The First Republic Day of
Symbiosis International University, Nagpur
campus was celebrated on 26th January 2020. A joint activity of
flag hoisting was
done in the presence of all the Heads of the Institutes from
SIU, Nagpur. The flag
hoisting and speeches took place at the rostrum especially
designed for these
celebrations. The function was attended by all the Teaching,
Non-teaching Staff
and the students of SIBM, SCMS, SLS and SSPAD.

In India 5th
September is celebrated as Teachers’ Day as a mark of
tribute to the
contribution made by teachers to the society. And the
Student council of Symbiosis
School of Planning, Architecture and Design celebrated
Teacher’s Day with zeal and
zest. There was an unusual excitement amongst the
students who turned the
atmosphere of the institute into joyful. Students were
planned various activities for
the teachers in the second half where dance, music,
skits and the most exciting activity
that that they planned was treasure hunt.
The Symbiosis School
of Planning, Architecture and Design conducted its 3rd
Students
council election on 25th August 2023. The objective of
conducting student
council
election is to provide students with a platform to elect
their
representatives. These
representatives are responsible for voicing the
concerns, interests, and
needs of the
student body to the school administration and faculty.
On 7th September 2023 The
student council of Symbiosis School of Planning
Architecture and Design, Nagpur Organized the Janmashtami
Celebration at the
institute on Ground floor foyer where students participated the
celebration
enthusiastically. All the students along with the staff were
dresses in traditional attire
to celebrate the event with festivity. The students have
performed various group
dances to make the event more vibrant.
Discussion with the students
to explain about the method of study to be conducted on site
to understand the various spaces required for the users to
perform the activities. Interaction with the teachers and
students to identify the challenges they faced on daily
basis to perform the activity.
Students of the B.Arch. and
B.Des. batches of Symbiosis School of Planning
Architecture and Design, Nagpur conducted the election of
student’s
representatives for student council. A democratic method of
secret ballot was used
for electing the candidates. The elections were conducted for
various positions like
President, Vice president, Secretary, Finance Head, Event heads
etc. The panel was
open for all the students who were willing to participate. The
votes were taken for
each post separately.
The First independence day
of Symbiosis International University, Nagpur campus
was celebrated on 15th August 2019. A joint activity of flag
hoisting ceremony was
commonly conducted between SIBM, SCMS, SLS and SSPAD institutes
of SIU,
Nagpur. The program took place under the open blue sky, in the
foyer of the
management building which is especially designed for the
Independence Day and
Republic day programs. The flags, the tricolor balloons, the
tricolor flowers, and
the boys and girls, staff and faculties everyone draped in one
or all of the tricolors
had feel the environment with patriotism.
Symbiosis School of Planning
Architecture and Design, Nagpur had organized the
special lecture on “YOGA for Mind Body & Soul” to boost the
positive thinking and
creative visualization for the Architecture, Design and LAW
students on 28th
August 2019. The guest of honor was Director of SLS, Nagpur Dr.
Sukhvinder Singh
Dari., Asso. Prof. Dr. Purva Mange welcomed all the guests. The
guest speakers
oriented and demonstrated students on the importance of Mind
Yoga in their studies
and personality.
In response to the UGC
mandate an event on Swachhata Hi Seva campaign was
conducted by Symbiosis School of Planning Architecture and
Design, Nagpur in
the campus on 28th September 2019. The Swachhata Hi Seva
campaign was
launched by Govt. Of India to reduce the use of single use
plastic and dispose off
plastic waste. UGC had issued necessary guidelines for
conducting the program in
the colleges and universities and submission of report of the
same by 2nd October
2019.
The student council
of Symbiosis School of Planning Architecture and Design,
Nagpur organized an event to celebrate Navratri in the
college premises. Students
representatives took formal permission from the Director
and arranged audio
system etc. for the program in the foyer of the
institute.
