Our B. Des programme is carefully designed to focus on the academic areas most useful in one's future study intentions. Students learn how to develop basic know-how and skills making effective use of the sketchbook, explore recording methods, develop visual perception, acquire professional attitudes to set projects and show a critical, contextual and historical awareness in the areas of design making us one of the top designing colleges in Maharashtra.

RESERVATION POLICY

RESERVATION 1. 25% (Twenty-five percent) seats are reserved for the 'Nagpur Domiciled' candidates
2. 15% (Fifteen percent) concession on the Academic fees will be provided by SIU payable by the candidates. However, when the seats reserved for 'Nagpur Domiciled' candidates remain vacant; and are offered to 'Non-Nagpur Domiciled' candidates, such candidates shall NOT be entitled to the fee concession, being offered to the 'Nagpur Domiciled' candidates.


Reservation Policy Norms for Nagpur Domicile

 

  1. Eligibility: As per SIU norms-
  1. Qualify in Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED).
  2. A candidate must have passed 10+2 (any stream; e.g. Science, Commerce, Arts, etc.) or Equivalent

OR

  1. 10+3 diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes) obtained in the final examination to be eligible for the above-mentioned program.
  2. A candidate appearing for the final examination of 10+2 grade or 10+3 Diploma program may also apply provided the results of the examination should have been declared by June of the admission year or prior to be eligible for the above-mentioned program.

 

  1. Desirable:
  1. The candidate should possess Creative Aptitude & Skills necessary to pursue Design Education as well as adoptability to the situations, which the profession demands. Candidates with the relevant portfolio would be preferred.

Admission Procedure for the First Year


For Indian Students

All Indian students are required to take the Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED), which will be held on 1st Saturday of May of the admission year. No candidate is entitled to seek admission to SID without a valid SEED score. Validity of SET score is for one year only.


How to appear for SEED?

Register online for SEED at www.set-test.org Facility of payment of SEED fee and printing of Admit Card is available online. A student aspiring to pursue an undergraduate program at Symbiosis needs to follow the steps mentioned below:

Admission to B. Des program of SSPAD will be as follows

Level 1 Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED). The result of SEED will beput up on the SEED website as per the schedule. If a candidate qualifiesSEED, he/she would be eligible to appear for SSPAD's Studio Test andPersonal Interaction. Shortlisting for admission will be based onpreference 1 and preference 2, selected during online registration.
Level 2 Studio Test and Personal Interaction will be conducted in the first weekof June at Symbiosis Campus in Nagpur or online on skype

Final selection would be based on the cumulative performance of the candidate in Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED), Studio Test and Personal Interaction as well as on the basis of the information provided by the candidate in the application form and his/her first preference of the disciplines offered.
